Repair & Service

Honest service from honest experts. We take bicycle builds, maintenance and repair seriously here at The Bicycle Cellar. We approach all repairs from the perspective of rider safety as the number one priority. We always offer free diagnosis and quotes and we’re equipped to handle most jobs.

Though we don’t publish all service pricing online, we do share that our comprehensive standard tune is priced at $75(*). The standard tune touches every single part of your bike, inspecting for damage and wear, making adjustments to every component, lubricating your drivetrain, test riding and running your bike through a 44 point checklist ( * pricing as of 9/15/2024 for standard geared bicycles that are not electric, nor have a carbon frame. Pricing discounted for single speeds ). For all other pricing, please call us at 480-219-7225, text us at 480-269-2453, or simply stop by (click here for a Google Maps link) and inquire in person.

Our service department follows these mantras to ensure your bicycle is working as properly as possible:

  • Attention to detail, from check-in for repairs all the way through check-out.
  • We do things right and we don’t cut corners.
  • We use quality parts we’d trust on our own bicycles.
  • We get repairs done as expeditiously as possible.

Repair, tuning, build and upgrade services include:

  • Custom builds as complex or simple as you desire.
  • Full restorations or overhauls on modern or vintage bikes.
  • Drivetrain and brake system upgrades including road, mountain, gravel and e-bikes.
  • Standard and Major tune-ups for single speed and geared bicycles.
  • A la carte adjustments including brake, shifter, derailer, gear, chain, crankset, bottom bracket, headset, hub, wheel truing and other components.
  • Custom wheel builds including 48 spoke pedicab wheels.
  • We also have quite a bit of experience with the proprietary oddities found on older bikes.
  • Powdercoating services (like paint, but more durable).

A few things to note:

  • Flat repairs on regular bicycles are almost always performed on the spot, with the exception of busy periods or complex bicycles/tricycles or heavy e-bikes for which may require leaving your bicycle for a bit.
  • Please see our Policies page for warranty and additional policies relating to bicycle repair.
  • We DO NOT work on gasoline motor powered bicycles.
  • Though we do work on most electric bicycles, we DO NOT perform any wiring repair on batteries, motors, controllers, etc. EXCEPT on brands we sell.
  • Some electric bikes may require a $20 fastener torque check service in addition to repairs requested.
  • We do not perform fork or shock overhauls in-house but we can send them out to a factory authorized service center.

2022 Update: Due to numerous design and wear/longevity issues observed across various scooter brands, we no longer perform work of any kind on electric scooter. We have no distributors from which to source scooter parts to repair such safety issues. You may bring in a *loose scooter wheel* for flat repair, but we only have 8.5″ tubes/tires in stock so bring your own tire/tube if it’s not 8.5″. We do not work on tubeless scooter tires as their design is much closer to a moped than a bicycle.

2021 Update: Due to numerous confirmed serious safety issues with a number of direct import brands sold on Amazon/eBay/etc, we can no longer work on certain brands of bikes. This includes Eurobike, Max4out, OBK, Oyma Power, cobcob, Hahoo, Hiland, Kingttu, IDS, Viribus, SOHOO, TotGuard, Heybike, Gyroor, Speedrid, Jaison, Velowave, Sailnovo, Vivi, Engwe, Opeak, Polarna, Googo, ZPAO and others. Note that this is not a complete list.
